The cyclic voltammetry of 1-bromo-2,3-bis(bromomethyl)benzene yields a reversible one electron oxidation process. The theory behind this reaction is that the bromine atom on the molecule possesses a high oxidation potential which is enhanced by the presence of a second electron donor.
