Beschreibung

(S)-2-(((Benzyloxy)carbonyl)amino)-5-ureidopentanoic acid is a sulphite reagent that is used for the detection of trypsin and other proteases. It can also be used to detect glycine, phenyl and carbodiimide. This product is an equilibrium mixture of 2-((benzyloxy)carbonylamino)-5-ureidopentanoic acid (2bcaa) and 4-(benzyloxycarbonylamino)-5-ureidopentanoic acid (4bcaa). The reaction is monitored by the release of diphenyl in the presence of carbonate reagent and 4-methylumbelliferyl. The release of diphenyl can be observed as a yellow colour change in solution.
