1-Bromo-4-(bromomethyl)naphthalene is a linker that can be used in the synthesis of triplexes and quadruplexes. This linker has π-π interactions with the nucleobases and can be used to position them. It also has an intercalating property, which makes it possible to bind to DNA, RNA, and proteins. 1-Bromo-4-(bromomethyl)naphthalene can be used as a monomer or as an enhancer for thermal stability. The optimized version of this compound is more thermally stable than the unoptimized one.
