Beschreibung

2'-Benzoyl-2,4'-dichloroacetanilide is a synthetic compound that belongs to the group of benzodiazepines. It has been used in the synthesis of diazepam and other pharmaceuticals. 2'-Benzoyl-2,4'-dichloroacetanilide reacts with nucleophiles by nucleophilic attack at the carbonyl carbon atom. The reaction produces an optimal yield when it occurs in aqueous solution at pH 8-10 or at low temperature. 2'-Benzoyl-2,4'-dichloroacetanilide is also a psychotherapeutic drug that has been shown to have anticonvulsant properties.
