Beschreibung

2,5-Bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)benzoic acid is a chlorinating agent that can be used with other reagents to form chlorides. It is used as an oxidant in the Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction. This chemical reacts with potassium hydride to produce potassium chloride and hydrogen gas. It also reacts with chlorine and carbon dioxide to form sodium chloride and carbonic acid. 2,5-Bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)benzoic acid is industrially important because it can be used as an acylation catalyst for the production of flecainide and argon.
