Beschreibung:
Bromomethyl acetate is a hydroxylated ester that has been shown to have a potent antibacterial effect in vitro. Bromomethyl acetate inhibits protein synthesis and membrane permeability, which may be due to its genotoxic activity. Bromomethyl acetate also inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the protein, preventing it from folding correctly and inhibiting its function. Bromomethyl acetate is not found in nature, but can be synthesized from bromoethane and acetic acid. The product is not very stable, so it is best stored at low temperatures or under inert gas.
