The analytical method involves the use of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry and monoclonal antibodies. 4-BMDC binds to sarcoplasmic proteins and carboxylate groups on rat liver microsomes with high affinity. It also reacts with tryptophan residues on proteins in human serum.
