4'-Bromomethylbiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid, methyl ester is a synthetic compound that has been shown to be an antagonist of the at1 receptor. It also inhibits angiotensin II (AII) production in rat tissues and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in the lungs. 4'-Bromomethylbiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid, methyl ester is used as a research tool in the study of AII receptors and has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. This compound is not active against gram-positive bacteria and is not used as a medicine.
