Beschreibung:
1,2-Bis(2,2-diethoxyethyl)disulfide is a molecule that has been shown to be able to generate formyl from benzene under solar irradiation. This radical can then be used in the production of other molecules. The efficiency of this process is higher than that of other known photochemical methods. 1,2-Bis(2,2-diethoxyethyl)disulfide also has the formyl group which can act as an intramolecular electrophile and react with electron deficient aromatic rings to form a new ring system.
