• Beschreibung: 1-Bromo-5-phenylpentane is a halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon that binds to the benzodiazepine receptor, which is responsible for the pharmacological effect of benzodiazepines. 1-Bromo-5-phenylpentane has been shown to inhibit the enzyme adenylate cyclase and decrease cAMP levels, thereby suppressing neurotransmitter release. It also inhibits phosphodiesterase activity and can act as an antiarrhythmic agent. 1-Bromo-5-phenylpentane has also been shown to have antibacterial properties against Gram positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This compound has also been found to be an effective inhibitor of tumor tissue growth in mice models.
