Beschreibung

Benzyl chloromethyl ether is a nucleophilic reagent that is used in organic synthesis. It reacts with an electrophilic substrate to form a carbon-carbon bond. This reaction can be used as part of an asymmetric synthesis where the chiral center is on the carbon atom adjacent to the chlorine atom. Benzyl chloromethyl ether has been shown to have receptor activity and inhibitory effects on adenosine receptors. In addition, benzyl chloromethyl ether inhibits the growth of resistant mutants of infectious diseases, such as HIV-1, through its ability to inhibit transcription.
