Bopindolol is a beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cardiac and bowel diseases. This drug binds to the beta-adrenergic receptor, which is found on the surface of cells, and blocks the binding of epinephrine or norepinephrine. It has also been shown to have a role in the regulation of immune system function by inhibiting toll-like receptor signaling pathways. Bopindolol has also been shown to inhibit picolinic acid production from tryptophan in human serum, which may be due to its ability to bind protein genes.
