(2S,4S)-(-)-N-BOC-4-Diphenylphosphino-2-diphenylphosphinomethyl-pyRRolidine is an aliphatic hydrocarbon that is a group p2 organic molecule. It has been shown to enhance neuronal function and is used in flow systems as a light emitter. Reaction with hydrochloric acid gives the corresponding phosphonic acid ester, (2S,4S)-(-)-N-BOC-4-(diphenylphosphinomethyl)pyRRolidine. The synthesis of this compound can be achieved by an asymmetric reaction from natural compounds containing the desired chiral center or by using homogeneous catalysts.
