- Quinoxaline, 2-Bromo-
2-Bromoquinoxaline is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells and also to have cytotoxic effects on cancer cells. It is a nitroaromatic compound, which may be responsible for its cytotoxic effects and its ability to induce apoptosis. 2-Bromoquinoxaline has been shown to inhibit protein kinases, such as p38 MAPK and JNK, and modulate their activities. This drug also inhibits amide hydrolase activity, which is involved in the production of nitric oxide (NO) by macrophages. 2-Bromoquinoxaline has also been shown to inhibit glycosidases in vitro, making it a potential therapeutic agent for hyperproliferative diseases. The drug inhibits toll-like receptor 4 signaling in vitro, which may be due to its functional groups.
