4-((tert-Butoxycarbonyl)amino)-1-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid is a synthetic compound that is used in the synthesis of polyamides. It is used in solid phase chemistry, where it reacts with triphosgene to form a carbamate that can then be coupled with an amine to form an amide. The racemization of this molecule can be determined by methodology. This process has been automated and is used for the synthesis of polyamides. 4-((tert-Butoxycarbonyl)amino)-1-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid binds to imidazole and pyrrole, which are important constituents in hairpin structures.
