Beschreibung

Bromocresol purple is a model system that is used to study the interactions between drugs and human serum albumin. It is an acidic, solid-phase extraction technique that has been shown to be effective for the extraction of bromocresol from water vapor and for the detection of antimicrobial agents in human serum. Bromocresol purple has also been used as an optical sensor in the diagnosis of α1-acid glycoprotein. This dye can be used to detect enzyme form by changing color depending on the pH level. Bromocresol purple has also been shown to have colistin resistance, which may be due to its ability to bind with lipopolysaccharide and prevent colistin from binding.
