Beschreibung

Boc-O-methyl-L-threonine is an analog of the amino acid L-threonine that has antiplasmodial activity. It inhibits the growth of plasmodium falciparum, a type of malaria parasite, by blocking the synthesis of hematin in its blood stage cycle. Boc-O-methyl-L-threonine is also an inhibitor of plasmodium falciparum with significant inhibition against the growth of this parasite in vitro. This compound may be used as a potential drug to treat malaria.
