Beschreibung:
6-Bromo-1H-indole-2-carbaldehyde is a potential therapeutic for bacterial infections. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to their DNA and preventing transcription and replication. 6-Bromo-1H-indole-2-carbaldehyde is also an antibacterial agent that binds to the beta subunit of bacterial ribosomes, inhibiting protein synthesis. This drug has been shown to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and has been optimized for activity against Gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli.
6BRICA can also inhibit serotonin reuptake, which may have antidepressant effects.
