Beschreibung

(3S)-(+)-1-Benzyl-3-aminopyrrolidine is a benzhydryl reagent that can be used in organic chemistry. It is a neutralizing agent that can be used to react with an acid chloride. The reaction produces the corresponding benzyl halide and an organic solvent, which can then be removed by distillation. For example, (3S)-(+)-1-Benzyl-3-aminopyrrolidine can react with thionyl chloride to produce benzyl chloride and diethylether. This compound has been shown to have antibacterial properties against Staphylococcus aureus isolates as well as some strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex.
