Produktinformation
- N-Benzyl-beta-naphthyl-amine
- N-benzylnaphthalen-2-amine
N-Benzyl-2-naphthylamine is a polyvinyl naphthalene that has been synthesized for the first time. It is soluble in organic solvents and water, but insoluble in ether. The molecule has a high melting point, with a nearly constant heat of fusion and enthalpy of vaporization. Calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide, and chloride have all been found to be good catalysts for the alkylation reaction. Systematic kinetic studies have shown that the rate of reaction is dependent on both the concentration of reactants and the nature of the solvent. Supramolecular chemistry has been used to study metal cations with this compound.
