4-Butoxyphthalonitrile is a molecule with magnetic and optical properties. It can be used to create devices that convert light into electricity, such as solar cells and photovoltaic devices. 4-Butoxyphthalonitrile was synthesized from butanol and nitrile chloride. The molecular structure of 4-butoxyphthalonitrile has been simulated using Quantum ESPRESSO software. The simulations revealed that the molecule has a right-handed chirality, which is important for its optical properties. To study the transport properties of this molecule, it was analyzed by conductivity measurements in liquid phase and gas phase. These experiments showed that 4-butoxyphthalonitrile is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol or acetone. In addition, it can be characterized using dichroism spectroscopy to determine its optical properties.
