1-Bromoadamantane is a quinoline derivative that is used as a pharmaceutical preparation. It was first synthesized in the 1950s, and has been used to treat inflammatory bowel disease. The synthesis of 1-Bromoadamantane is accomplished by the palladium-catalyzed coupling of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid with an organic solution containing the bromide salt of the quinoline.
