Beschreibung

1,3-Bis(bromomethyl)benzene is a common organic compound that is used as a cross-coupling agent in organic synthesis. It can be prepared by the reaction of benzaldehyde with bromine in an acidic solution. This chemical is also used to prepare coumarin derivatives through nucleophilic substitution reactions. 1,3-Bis(bromomethyl)benzene can be used as a viscosity modifier for polymers and as a polymer film stabilizer for transfer reactions.
