4-Bromo-2,6-dimethylaniline is an organic compound that belongs to the aniline family. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and acetonitrile. 4-Bromo-2,6-dimethylaniline has been shown to react with acid solutions to form hydrogen bromide gas and ammonium chloride crystals. The crystal x-ray diffraction pattern of the product shows it has a space group of P21/c. This reaction also produces acrylonitrile as a byproduct.
