4-Fluoroaniline is a chemical compound that is used as an intermediate in the production of 2-bromo-4-fluoroaniline, which exhibits antibacterial activity. The organic solvent used in this reaction is introduced to the reaction vessel and the reaction is allowed to proceed at room temperature. The antibacterial activity of the product can be determined by testing the filtrate. The oxidant and refluxing are used to break down any impurities that may have formed during the synthesis process.
