1-Bromo-2,6-difluoro-4-iodobenzene is a dielectric liquid with an optical anisotropy that can be used in liquid crystal compositions. This compound has been shown to have nematic and chiral properties. The temperature range for this liquid is -35°C to +100°C. The chains are linear and the substituents are fluorine atoms. 1-Bromo-2,6-difluoro-4-iodobenzene is also a trifluoromethyl analogue of benzene.
