Beschreibung

Bilobalide is a natural compound that belongs to the group of flavonoids. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with other natural compounds, such as ginkgo, in their ability to protect against neuronal death. Bilobalide can be used in the treatment of injury or disease that causes an increase in oxidative stress and inflammation. It has also been shown to reduce bowel disease by increasing the production of mucin and decreasing the number of inflammatory cells present in the colon. Bilobalide also helps maintain normal energy metabolism by inhibiting dextran sulfate-induced peroxidation, which prevents lipid peroxidation and subsequent cell death. Bilobalide inhibits phospholipase A2 activity, which reduces the amount of arachidonic acid available for prostaglandin synthesis and thereby decreases the inflammatory response.
