Beschreibung

4-Bromobenzamide is an amide with a hydrogen bond that inhibits the activity of proteases. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of cathepsin C and chymotrypsin in vitro, as well as the proteolytic activity of elastase. 4-Bromobenzamide also has a covalent inhibition effect on protein synthesis. This inhibitor is capable of reducing the levels of glutathione reductase, cytochrome P450, and mycobacterium in cell culture. In addition, 4-bromobenzamide has been shown to have acute toxicities in mice and rats when administered at high doses. However, it does not show any toxic effects on healthy mice or rats when administered at low doses.
