3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-N-ethylaniline is a carboxylate that is used as an anti-cancer drug. 3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-N-ethylaniline binds to the active site of cytochrome P450 and inhibits its activity, which results in the inhibition of cancer cell growth. It also acts as an antioxidant and has been shown to have anti-leishmanial effects. The crystal structure has been determined by x-ray crystallography. 3,5-Bis-(trifluoromethyl)aniline is a ligand for metal ions and has been shown to be noncancerous in animal studies.
