N-[4-Bromo-2-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Acetamide is a reagent that reacts with hydroxide to form acetanilide. It is used in organic chemistry as a precursor for the synthesis of acetanilides and ortho-acetates. N-[4-Bromo-2-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Acetamide reacts with tert-butyl hydroperoxide to produce tert-butyl peroxybenzoate, which can be used in the synthesis of peroxybenzoic acid. This compound also acts as an oxidizing agent, converting alcohols to their corresponding ketones or aldehydes, and it can be used as a source of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid.
