Beschreibung:N1-Ethylmalonohydrazide (NEMH) is a hydroxylase ligand that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It binds to the active site of the enzyme, which converts 4-nitrophenylacetic acid into 4-aminophenol and carbon dioxide. NEMH is a precursor to the anticancer drug, melphalan. The anticancer activity of NEMH is due to its ability to crosslink DNA molecules, thereby inhibiting DNA synthesis. It also has an effect on the conformation of the molecule and may be responsible for its anti-cancer effects.
