This compound also has growth factor properties that are due to its ability to activate tumor necrosis factor-α production, causing cell death. 2-Chlorocyclopentanone hydrochloride also has an inhibitory effect on the enzyme xanthine oxidase, which plays a key role in the production of uric acid.
