Beschreibung

2-Chloro-5-cyanopyridine is an organic solvent that can be used in the laboratory as a reagent. It has been shown to inhibit the enzyme DPP-IV, which is involved in sphingolipid metabolism. This compound also inhibits the activity of other enzymes such as dehydrogenase and cytochrome P450. 2-Chloro-5-cyanopyridine has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity on hematopoietic cells and chaperone proteins. The intracellular levels of this compound are highest when it is dechlorinated, which may be due to its high chemical stability and low reactivity with other molecules. 2-Chloro-5-cyanopyridine has also been shown to interfere with cellular membrane systems, specifically by inhibiting the function of phospholipids.
