• Beschreibung: Enzalutamide is a potent and selective nonsteroidal antiandrogen that is being studied in the treatment of prostate cancer. Enzalutamide binds competitively to the androgen receptor, preventing it from binding to its natural ligands. The drug has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer in animal models. In clinical studies, enzalutamide significantly decreased serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels and increased tumor response rates in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The plasma concentration–time curve of enzalutamide was found to be linear over a dose range of 25 to 50 mg per day, with a mean elimination half-life of about 24 h. The pharmacokinetics of enzalutamide are not affected by hepatic impairment or body mass index. Pharmacokinetic parameters were determined using LC-MS/MS methods.br>
