N-[2-[6-[[4-(Cyclobutylamino)-5-(trifluoromethyl)-2-pyrimidinyl]amino]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1,4-imin-9-yl]-2-oxoethyl]acetam ide (NXD101) is a transcriptional regulator that inhibits the activity of histone methyltransferase (HMT). It has been shown to be effective in prostate cancer cells and solid tumours. The molecule also inhibits the expression of caspase 3 and p21 in mouse tumor models. NXD101 interacts with the ATP binding site of HMT and blocks its activity by forming a ternary complex with the enzyme and DNA.
