Beschreibung

Conotoxins are peptides that can bind to specific receptors on the surface of cells. Their function is to regulate ion channels and thus affect cellular physiology. Conotoxin GIIIA is a disulfide-bonded peptide with a molecular weight of 5808 Da. It has been shown to inhibit Na+ channel activity in human serum, and may have diagnostic and therapeutic applications for diseases such as epilepsy.
