Beschreibung

Cecropin A is a member of the cecropin family of antimicrobial agents. This protein has been shown to be effective against bowel disease, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases such as Mycobacterium avium. Cecropin A has been shown to have conformational properties that are different from other members of the cecropin family. It also has an activity index that is higher than other cecropins. Research using experimental models has shown that this protein induces cell death through a caspase-independent mechanism, which may make it useful for targeting cells with damaged mitochondria.
