Beschreibung

2-[(Carboxymethyl)thio]benzoic acid is a bidentate ligand that binds to metal ions. It is coordinated, ligated, and stacked with the metal ion. The chelating ability of 2-[(Carboxymethyl)thio]benzoic acid allows it to form hydrogen bonds with both the anion and cation. This compound has been used as a catalyst for nitration reactions and for the synthesis of other organic compounds.
