Beschreibung

Cyclohexylamino-oxoacetic acid (CAOA) is a molecule that can be found in dietary sources and has been shown to have anti-cancer effects. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells by inhibiting the insulin signaling pathway. CAOA decreases body mass index, insulin resistance, and inflammation in wild-type mice. This molecule also has anti-inflammatory properties against influenza virus and other inflammatory diseases. The mechanism of action of CAOA is still unknown, but it may be due to its ability to modulate the expression of genes in the nucleus through an interaction with nucleic acids or protein phosphatase 2A.
