Beschreibung

2-Chloro-N,N-dimethylisonicotinamide is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4), which is involved in the production of proinflammatory cytokines. PDE4 is an enzyme that breaks down the signaling molecule cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). 2-Chloro-N,N-dimethylisonicotinamide has been shown to inhibit LPS-induced TNFα production and other biological activities, such as inhibition of cAMP degradation and inhibition of PDE activity. This drug also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines by binding to the catalytic site of PDE4. 2-Chloro-N,N-dimethylisonicotinamide may act as a potential therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases and cancer.
