Beschreibung

Beta-caryophyllene is a sesquiterpene that is found in many plant oils, including the essential oils of black pepper and eucalyptus. It has been shown to have insecticidal properties and may be used as a natural pesticide. Beta-caryophyllene also has anti-inflammatory properties and acts as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. The mechanism of beta-caryophyllene's pharmacological activities are not well understood, but it appears to act through the toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). This compound also has shown promise in treating cancer cells in vitro. Beta-caryophyllene can be analyzed using chromatographic analysis or by using solid phase microextraction techniques.
