Produktinformation
- Pyrazine, 2-Chloro-3,5-Dimethyl-
2-Chloro-3,5-dimethylpyrazine (2C5MP) is a colorless liquid that is obtained by the reaction of hexane with a hydroxypyrazine. 2C5MP has been shown to have potential use as an insecticide and was used in a study to search for new chromatographic methods. The demethylation of 2C5MP results in the formation of formic acid and 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde. The spectrometric data for 2C5MP show it to be a nucleophilic compound with two unlabeled isomers. These isomers can be differentiated based on their mass spectrometric detection: one has a molecular weight of 82, while the other has a molecular weight of 98. Trisubstituted compounds such as 2C5MP exist in three forms: two forms are rotational isomers and the third form is an enantiomer.
