This drug has been shown to act as an adrenergic receptor agonist and has molecular modeling properties. 4-(Chlorosulfonyl)benzoic acid inhibits matrix metalloproteinase activity and increases the expression of matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors. The drug was not found to inhibit collagenase and elastase activities in vitro.
