Beschreibung:
2-(4-Chloro-phenyl)-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid is a target compound that is synthesized from 4-chlorobenzaldehyde and 2,4-dichloroacetophenone. The condensation of these two compounds in the presence of sodium ethoxide gives a high yield of the desired product. This synthesis can be used to produce intermediates for other target compounds, such as 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline and 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran.
