alpha-Chloro-3-nitrobenzaldoxime is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of itraconazole. It is a synthetic compound that was synthesised for its anti-fungal properties. alpha-Chloro-3-nitrobenzaldoxime has been shown to be effective against candida albicans and other fungi, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition products from aldehydes. alpha-Chloro-3-nitrobenzaldoxime also inhibits the synthesis of proteins and RNA by inhibiting protein synthesis at the ribosome level. This drug can be used in conjunction with fluconazole for more efficient antifungal activity.
