Beschreibung:
Cyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid is a potent metabotropic glutamate receptor agonist that is used in biochemical and experimental models to study the function of glutamate receptors. Cyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid has been shown to increase the synthesis of intracellular proteins by stimulating glutamate receptors on the cell surface. It also increases dopamine release in a rat model of Parkinson's disease. Cyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid potentiates the effects of glutamate at metabotropic glutamate receptors and may be useful for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease.
