Beschreibung

Calcium DL-Pantothenate is a calcium salt of pantothenic acid. It is used as a dietary supplement and in pharmaceutical preparations. Calcium Pantothenate has been shown to be an inhibitor of bacterial growth, including oral pathogens, due to its ability to inhibit the activity of fatty acid synthetase, which is required for the production of fatty acids. It also inhibits the synthesis of epidermal growth factor and colony-stimulating factors by binding to these proteins. The drug repositioning potential for Calcium DL-Pantothenate includes antimicrobial agents that are activated by hydrochloric acid or sodium citrate.
