Beschreibung:Cangrelor is a drug that belongs to the class of platelet aggregation inhibitors. It binds to the P2Y receptor and prevents ADP from binding, which prevents platelet activation. Cangrelor has been shown to be effective in preventing thrombotic events in patients who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This drug has been shown to reduce the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events, including stent thrombosis and death from any cause, when used as an adjunct to clopidogrel or aspirin following PCI. Cangrelor may also be used for the prevention of arterial thromboembolic complications in patients undergoing total hip replacement or total knee replacement surgery.
