• Beschreibung: Carbophenothion sulfoxide is a synthetic insecticide that belongs to the group of organophosphorus compounds. The target enzyme of this compound is acetylcholinesterase, which is inhibited by binding to its active site. Carbophenothion sulfoxide inhibits the activity of acetylcholinesterase by forming a covalent bond with the thiol groups on the cysteine residues of this enzyme. It has been shown to be effective against drug-resistant cells and staining in animals and rat liver microsomes. Carbophenothion sulfoxide also has an unpleasant odor, which may be due to its sulfur content.
