The elution profile for this marker was found to be similar to that seen for markers for glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) activation. GSK-3 is an enzyme that has been implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases such as diabetes mellitus type 2 and rheumatoid arthritis.
